Juniors are on the ball at Oban Dalriada

Sunday saw a Fantastic turn out at Oban Lorne RFC for the second round of the Dalriada Summer Series with over 120 players from across the area turning up to play excellent rugby on the day.

 

Teams from Campbeltown, Lochgilphead, Oban, Taynuilt and Fort William showed some outstanding skills to score over 240 tries over the session.

 

Hosts Oban were the winners of the P4/5 competition, winning all five of their games scoring 20 tries in the process.

 

Lochaber and Mull were competing hard and the islanders managed to secure second place with Lochaber in third.

 

In the P6/7 competition Mull came out on top by a point over Oban thanks to being undefeated with five wins and a draw to Oban's five wins and a loss.

 

Mid Argyll and Kintyre were closely matched bringing in third and fourth respectively.

 

Rugby Development Officer Andrew Johnston was thrilled with the overall standard of play and the growth in numbers across all clubs.

 

A big thanks went to Walter Speirs and his team of volunteers for hosting a fantastic day of rugby for all.

 

Fort William plays host to the next Dalriada at Lochaber Rugby club this Sunday (April 30) from 1pm.
