With support from Morrison’s in Fort William through their Store Community Champion, 75 food hampers containing the ingredients for a Burns Supper, fresh and long-life food, as well as a recipe book to encourage cooking at home were made up and delivered by Monday, January 25.
The mouth-watering hampers were made possible mainly through funding from the Weir Charitable Trust with the Co-op Food Fund paying for the recipe books.

The Kinlochleven group were also grateful to Age Scotland who donated 25 Burns in a Bag, a canvas bag with a Burns quote and activity pack put together by the Scots Literacy project, to add to some of the hampers.
Lucy Cooke, development officer at the trust, said: 'We are so thankful to the Weir Charitable Trust and the Co-op Food Fund for funding this initiative, Morrison’s in Fort William, Age Scotland and our wonderful staff and volunteers for making it happen.
'January is not a favourite month for many people and the pandemic is certainly having an impact. We hope these Burns hampers will provide a little joy, inspiration and sustenance in the village at a time of uncertainty and difficulty.'
