It was lovely to be joined by people young and old at the Courier's 150th anniversary celebrations last Friday.
You can read all about the event in this week's anniversary supplement, but among the highlights were the musical performances of Kintyre Schools Pipe Band and Campbeltown Brass.
We are really grateful to the band members for taking time out of school to make our celebrations so much more special.
It was particularly moving to hear the first ever public performance of the tune written by former KSPB pipe major Ian McKerral in honour of the occasion.
Reporting on the bands' successes – and there are many – is one of the best things about being a Courier reporter.
We hope the pupils of Gigha Primary School, two of whom were the winners of our anniversary logo competition, enjoyed their day out and we would also like to thank them for travelling to join us.
And the efforts of 108-year-old Ailsa Stewart and all our special guests who joined us does not go unnoticed.
Finally, we would like to thank all our loyal readers and advertisers for supporting the newspaper and allowing it to prosper for the last 150 years.
The future looks bright for Campbeltown and we hope to be here to serve the community for many more years to come.
