Scotland’s best selling cookbook author of 2021 has signed a deal with American publishers Sourcebooks.
His debut cookbook will be released in the US and Canada on May 3 and Coinneach will be travelling across the Atlantic for a countrywide media and book tour in conjunction with the release.
'I cannot wait to share my recipes and wee stories from the Scottish islands across America,' he said.
'Over 20 million Americans have Scottish heritage and I hope to meet as many of them as possible on the tour.'
Coinneach’s busy American schedule will include television and radio appearances as well as a book-signing tour with America’s largest bookstore Barnes and Noble.
In a unique twist the Hebridean Baker’s American fans will choose which cities Coinneach will visit.
From February 24-March 6 they will be able to vote to bring the book tour to their home town. The top six voted cities will then be added to the May '22 book tour.
‘It’s so exciting that I could be visiting anywhere from Dallas to New York – but I do have a secret hope that Nashville gets enough votes to be selected, as I’d love a trip to Dollywood,' said country music fan Coinneach.
Sadly Seòras the Westie, his trusty sidekick, won’t be making the trip: 'He’d be bigger than the Beatles if he could have made the journey,’ added Coinneach.
Inspired by family recipes and traditional Scottish bakes Coinneach launched the Hebridean Baker in 2020. 16.5 million video views (and counting) later Coinneach has motivated his followers around the world to bake, forage, learn Gaelic, have a dram or two of whisky and dream of visiting the Scottish islands.
Head of marketing at Sourcebook Liz Kelsch said: 'We are delighted to be bringing the Hebridean Baker to the US.
'We know America is going to fall in love with him, his recipes and that beautiful Hebridean accent.'
Born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, he shares the Hebridean hygge lifestyle in his debut cookbook The Hebridean Baker.
With wholesome, traditional recipes, stunning photography, and a generous sprinkling of stories of island life and culture, The Hebridean Baker book offers a true taste of the Outer Hebrides.
