Marianne recorded the single whilst on maternity leave and was accompanied by her new baby son Soren in the studio.
“At the beginning of this year Soren and I lost a very important person in our lives," she said. "As we continue to navigate our way through all of the heartache, this song marks a sea of change for me and my six-month old son.
"It’s not been easy trying to put into place all of the things that go with recording or releasing a new single, especially with such a young baby and being on my own, however Soren continues to be my inspiration, my reason for being and my whole future. It’s exciting to be releasing new music that will be the soundtrack to his first few months in this world.”

Marianne's husband, fellow musician Liam Fraser-Stewart, died shortly after their son Soren was born on December 22 2022. Liam and Marianne were well known, not just for their musical talents, but also for their selfless efforts during the Covid emergency, particularly at the pandemic's height in 2020, when they were forced to return home to Spean Bridge from working as resident musicians in Disney Springs, Florida,
Once home, they immediately threw themselves in to a community aide effort that led to them being hailed as Lochaber Lockdown Legends, freeing up their own home for frontline workers, setting up the Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry Community Covid-19 Support page on social media to make sure everyone in their area had what they needed to get through the worst of the crisis.
They also set up a temporary foodbank pick-up point so locals could avoid travelling the 10 miles to Fort William to donate to the Lochaber Foodbank. And if all that was not enough, Liam and Marianne, who were only in their 20s, also gave up their time and talents to perform a Facebook Live Covid Ceilidh from their front garden raising over £1,600 for Lochaber Foodbank from viewers' donations.

Collaborating with JP Reid of Sucioperro and Marmaduke Duke fame, she is channelling a different sound.
Marianne, aka 'Little Win', said: "This track is upbeat, happy and fun, thanks in no small part to JP, whose knack for crafting catchy, memorable tunes never ceases to amaze me. I’m so pleased the stars aligned and allowed us to work together again.
“I’ve always been drawn towards and inspired by pop music, so to create a song which fits into this dynamic genre has been so much fun. Make Believe is an embodiment of big pop bops, and it exudes an energy and vibrancy that I really hope resonates with listeners."
