Mànran’s Kim Carnie from Oban, and Gary Innes and Ewen Henderson from Lochaber, will join more than 25 artists on the line-up of world-class entertainment, including international acts, up-and-coming stars and homegrown talent.
The multi award-winning Scottish supergroup have been at the heart of the Scottish traditional music scene for over a decade. Internationally recognised as one of the most iconic and respected Scottish bands on the road today, the seven-piece will close the event in spectacular style on the Saturday night.
The 1,000-capacity event will also offer a host of family entertainment across the weekend, with art and craft stalls as well as creative, woodland and circus workshops including dream catcher making, wood whittling and juggling.
For keen learners there will be music workshops running on the Saturday and Sunday morning. All workshops are included in the price of the attendees’ ticket.
For those looking to camp, there will be no additional cost and there will be plenty of pitches to choose from in the beautiful surroundings of Rozelle Park. Campers are not only promised a beautiful view to wake up to, but also ‘posh’ loos and showers for an elevated camping experience in the picturesque location.
The party will carry on in the evenings with ceilidhs taking place on the Friday and Saturday, with a fantastic ceilidh band keeping dancers on their feet into the night. Artisan food and drink vendors will also be on site, offering a range of delicious options to keep everyone fuelled up and refreshed across the weekend.
Organisers will also put on event shuttle buses that will run hourly from Ayr town centre to the park, and back again, to ensure everyone’s journey to and from the event is as safe and stress-free as possible.
Blair Parham, Director of Fresh Ayr Folk Fest, said: “It is a pleasure to have acts from across Scotland and beyond, including some incredible talent from Lochaber and Oban, performing at Fresh Ayr.
“It’s shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend and we can’t wait to welcome music lovers of all ages to Rozelle Park this summer.
“We hope it will become a staple event in the calendar of folk fans across the country for years to come.”
