There were 1.5 and 4km races for under 11 and 13 year olds. The course followed a route
over long grass in Claggan, up towards Melantee with a muddy section in the middle.
First over the line was Kai Tresidder, aged eight, in 10 minutes 48 seconds, closely followed by Toby Smith in 11:06, Jethro Murray in 11:33, with Charlie Foley and Jamie Morris keeping in touch. Carys Rodgers was first girl in 12:38 with Alice Lynch and Iona Rodgers second and third respectively.
In the under 13 race, which included two additional laps, Aaron Tresidder stormed through in 14:04 with David Rodgers second. Maisy Gorman had travelled from Newtonmore and ran an impressive 17:40 to cross the line as first under 13 girl. Three of the under 13 girls, Freya Comiskey, Freida MacLeod and Una Ross, entered Claggan Park together and shared second place.
The next race in the series is a hill race from Braveheart on Sunday February 26.
Meanwhile, training for nine to 15 year olds has moved indoors to Lochaber High School's large games hall on Thursday nights from 5.45pm to 6.45pm.
LAC Juniors duo Joshua Beckett and Maddison MacMillan were in action at a national indoors open track and field event in the Emirates Arena on Saturday. Competing in the under 15 age group, Joshua was first in the 60 metres final in 8.31 seconds following several heats featuring a large number of runners. He finished second in the 200m in a personal best of 26.55 seconds.
Maddison opened her season with a 4m 21cm long jump.
