Lochaber MindFit gets welcome cash boost
A recent fundraising effort by Lochaber MindFit raised the total sum of £2,140. Items donated included a signed Scotland rugby shirt given by Jonathon McCook, which saw Becky McCook then raise £500 selling tickets for the chance to win the jersey and she also raised another £100 in a separate raffle.
Ferguson Transport donated £500 and MindFit chairwoman Susan Archibald also set up a GoFundMe page to raise money from shaving her hair with the aim of raising £200.
Ms Archibald said: ' We also had lots of donations of prizes for tombola and baking to sell on the day. Everyone from friends, family and local businesses were extremely generous and my gofundme generated £1,216.20
'On the event day we raised £815 which included other donations from members of the community. We are very humbled and grateful to everyone who donated and helped to raise that amazing amount which will go towards ensure rent costs and allow us to run our meetings for another year.'
