Lochnell Primary School pupils are celebrating the opening of their new climbing frame after a year of hard work to get it built.
Lochnell Pupil Council invited representatives from Ardchattan Community Council to officially open their new climbing frame on Thursday October 31.
More than a year ago, the pupil council said it wanted to improve play opportunities for all learners and made a plan to replace a rotting climbing frame in the playground.
They researched, surveyed their fellow pupils, met with playground companies and raised funds by running bake sales and asking local businesses for donations.
The pupils’ ideal climbing frame - a mix of four different pieces from different sets - is now popular in the playground.
It may have taken more than a year to get there but that only made Thursday’s celebrations sweeter.
An incredible achievement by the pupil council, the new climbing frame includes a tyre traverse, roll over bars, monkey bars and a scramble net.
Principal teacher Emma Rossier said: "Thank you to Ardchattan Community Council for its donations and everyone else who supported the fundraising efforts towards this project."
