Week four of the Amateur Darts Circuit (ADC) sanctioned Vault 11.0 event took place in Sunny’s Bar on the evening of Monday March 3.
Maxing out with 24 entries the competition comprised of a mix of adults and over 14’s.
Making it all the way to the semi-final was youngster James Macraild. James came out of a tough group containing regular darters, finishing top of the table.
James’ journey finished at the semi-final stage, where he was defeated three legs to one by the eventual winner Martyn Cameron.
The other semi-final contained two in form players in Evan Atkinson and Ross MacMillan. In a close encounter it was the finishing of Atkinson that proved the difference with check outs of 130 and a 90 to win the match three legs to two.
A repeat of the Duncan Rodger final only a few weeks ago, went again the way of the experienced and in form champion Martyn Cameron.
Sitting fourth on the ADC Vault 11.0 Scotland table with an average of 73.19 Cameron sits in a great position to start creating a name for himself on a more national basis.
As one of the main protagonists in the upsurge of darting interest, Martyn Cameron said: “I am in awe at the standard of the darts over the last month.
“From the youngsters to time served darters. It has been incredible.
“I am really excited with the future of Fort William darts; with the likes of Jamie MacNiven, James Macraild, Campbell Burnett to name just a few of the next generation of talent.”
Darts in Fort William takes place on Monday night in Sunny’s Bar and Friday Night in Tradewinds Bar. All welcome (over 18’s only in Tradewinds).
