Mull and Iona Community Trust (MICT) has started a fundraiser for a new defibrillator at Craignure Village Hall.
The buzzing community hub in Mull’s main ferry port will need £1,500 to pay for the device, which they hope will never be used, but could prove life saving.
Moray Finch, general manager of MICT, said: “Public access defibrillators are an important part of the chain of survival for anyone unfortunate enough to suffer a cardiac arrest.
"Access to CPR and a defibrillator in the first minutes is vital to improving the chances of a positive outcome. Craignure Village Hall is an increasingly vibrant hub of the local community with many successful events, locations like this with gatherings of people are perfect for hosting defibrillators.
"The defibrillator will be registered with “The Circuit”, the online system used by the Scottish Ambulance Service emergency call handlers when they are trying to direct a caller to the nearest defibrillator whilst the land ambulance is dispatched to the incident.
"This defibrillator will be the 38th location included in the system managed by Mull and Iona Community Trust across Mull, Iona, Ulva and Erraid.”
If you want to help reach the funding goal and possibly save a life, you can donate to the fundraiser here.
Any extra funds raised over the goal will be reserved to pay for replacement pads and batteries across the network.
