Retired Inveraray pharmacist John McNulty, who has been building model ships since the age of 10, wheeled his creation into town to help spread word about the real-life Waverley coming soon.
It took him 14 months to build the 10ft long and 85 kilo heavy precision-perfect version of famous The Waverley and he hopes the model will have helped stir up extra interest in her tours that will run from Oban and the Inner Hebrides from May 23 until May 29 taking in Staffa, the Treshnish Isles, the Mull of Kintyre and various sea lochs - even cruising the Corryvreckan whirlpool.
The ship begins the new season on Friday May 19.
