Both the P4/5 and P6/7 group entered two teams, Oban Bulls and Oban Sharks, into the tournament which was well set up and run.
For some of these players it was their first tournament.
Sharks were up first and the long drive was still on their minds as they were a little slow to react but steadily grew into it.
Bulls had a double header and, with a few Etive Vikings players entering the fray, dominated a great passage of play.
The support was fantastic from both sets of supporters.
Sharks came back with a great win, then it was the Bulls and Sharks up against each other. There was no love lost between the two teams and the Bulls edged the Sharks in an enthralling game.
As a result of a lack of overall numbers in the competition the games were all replayed and the Oban teams showed great composure and skill and were the epitome of grassroots rugby spirit.
The supporters played their part with plenty encouragement which culminated in another match between the Oban Sharks and Oban Bulls. The Bulls were bolstered by the arrival of a primary three player whose try celebration from the supporters could be heard all the way back in Oban.
It was a great day and credit goes to Campbeltown/Kintyre Rugby for hosting a great tournament.
The next Dalriada tournament is on Mull on Saturday May 7.
