"Our Centenary Games went very, very well with a bigger than normal crowd because people wanted to come and celebrate our 100th year. A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes in the run up to the event as well as on the big day itself and putting it all away for next year again. A big thank you to everyone who helped organise it, took part and those who supported us by coming along to enjoy it. We couldn't have done it without them.

Four-year-old Lucy Clark from Inveraray stole the crowds' and judges' hearts, winning first place in all four of her Highland dances, while Gregor MacDonald from North Connel flew to the finish line in the kilt race.

Oban's Murdo Masterson put on a good show along with other heavy weights including Tobermory's Karina Benish Alexander who was the only female competitor in that section.

Scots-born John Hilditch, who has lived in Australia for the last 38 years and brought nine of the Oz athletes over to the games on a tour of similar events around the UK, said: "We've had a ball in Mull. Nowhere can compete for hospitality and surroundings."

Eric Macintyre who produced a commemorative book marking Mull Game's 100-year journey presented prizes to joint high jump winners Allan Hamilton from Edinburgh and Andrew Nicol from Inveraray, adult Highland dance winner Rachel Walker from Fettercairn and Korri McMillan from Campbeltown who took first position in the 15 years and under Highland Dancing premier section.
