A new photo gallery from young Oban photographer Holly Cartwright has launched at the Regent Hotel on Corran Esplanade.
After three years of taking photos, amassing a collection of tens of thousands, Holly Cartwright was delighted at the opportunity to show off her work with her first gallery.
With 36 photos on display at the Regent, and a further 17 at the Alexandra, her career as a photographer has well and truly kicked off.
Sunset snaps, incredible views of iconic landmarks like McCaigs tower or Lismore Lighthouse, and even a bit of wildlife photography is on display.
At the launch event on October 8, guests were amazed at the incredible talent on display, designed and picked out by Holly herself after a gruelling selection process.
Holly’s trusty companion Rocky the dog, who accompanies her to all her shoots, was also in attendance, much to the love of all guests.
Holly spoke of how she came into the photography business, she said: "I’m self taught, because it’s better to teach yourself through trial and error and learn what works, if someone else teaches you, you’ll just forget!"
With a desire to do more galleries, she hopes to have the west coast’s beauty displayed in major cities like London, and even abroad in America.
The gallery is now open and free to view in the Regent Hotel’s lobby, and for any fans of the work, can also be ordered by following the QR codes under each canvas.
