Petrol and diesel is once again available at Brodick Pier following a Trading Standards visit where an official carried out certification and calibration checks known as stamping.
The modern new pumps were installed by Frazer Welsh, a private engineer who installed the original pumps “more than 20 years ago".
Graeme Pollock, North Ayrshire Trading Standards officer, conducted checks on each pump to ensure it dispensed the correct amount of fuel each time for amounts between two litres and over.
The new fuel pumps are not card operated and still require users to pay inside the building, however, they are quicker and more modern than the previous pumps.
