Oban publisher scoops book deal tied to CBeebies series

Award-winning Oban children's publisher Little Door Books is about to launch its first TV tie-in board book, Hushabye Lullabye: Goodnight Dreams.

 

 

Aimed at babies to three-year-olds, the board books is based on the CBeebies Bedtime Hour programme, Hushabye Lullabye, written and created by Sacha Kyle. 

 

The book follows cuddly little alien Dillie Dally as he flies to planet dream alongside super soft characters, including bedtime sheep in their propeller hats and cuddly multi-coloured chumbles. Filled with lovable characters the board book is designed to make any young child’s bedtime routine calming, familiar and enjoyable.

 

This delightful book is the first title in an ongoing series, depicting a little one’s journey to sleep.

 

Hushabye Lullabye’s creator, Sacha Kyle, is an award-winning creator/director/writer, who has worked as an artistic director all over the world, producing theatre productions for the last 20 years. Most recently she directed for the CBeebies’ TV Drama, Molly and Mack.

 

Sacha said: 'It has been an absolute joy to work with Alan Windram and Little Door Books. I’m delighted to launch the first book from the Hushabye Lullabye series with such a fantastic independent Scottish publisher.'

Hushabye Lullabye: Goodnight Dreams will be published on June 4, 2021, alongside the release of the TV shows second series on CBeebies. A second board book in the series will follow in 2022.

 

 

 

• Little Door Books is also celebrating being named a Scotland finalist in the Small Press of the Year category of the 2021 British Book Awards. Shortlisted publishers will find out this month if they have been voted through to the national final.
