This film was made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective. It shows the destruction of the occupied West Bank’s Masafer Yatta by Israeli soldiers and the alliance which develops between a Palestinian activist, Basel, and an Israeli journalist, Yuval.
The screening is being held in the Kilmallie Community Hall, Corpach at 7pm on Friday March 28.
Vice Chair of the LSP group, Peter Newman said: “We were delighted that No Other Land was awarded the Oscar for Best Documentary.
“It is a total coincidence that our screening was already scheduled but, frankly, this is testament to our Chair, Marie Nolan’s, exceptional taste and depth of knowledge of Palestinian cinema.
“The fact that the film won the Oscar without having an American distribution deal, shows how messages which preach hope and show the way that Jews and Palestinians can, and do, work together on the ground is a powerful message, hugely needed at this time.”
