Essential resurfacing works are due to start on the A87 north of Sligachan, Skye, from Monday October 14.
The improvement work by BEAR on behalf of Transport Scotland is due to last until the morning of Friday October 18 and will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 7am each night.
To keep the workforce and road users safe, the carriageway will be closed in both directions each night at the work site but amnesties will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am.
Traffic management will be removed outside working hours, but a 30mph speed limit will stay in place because of the temporary surface.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users as well as upgrading road markings to enhance road safety. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
