Members of the Alzheimer’s Scotland Lochaber spent an afternoon in the West Highland Museum looking through a portfolio of photographs by Iain Ferguson, which were part of his exhibition to mark his 50th anniversary working in the media.
Although the exhibition had ended Iain was happy to lay out his selection of images as prints and a rolling slideshow on a monitor.
Twenty nine of his 50 years has been spent in Lochaber, working for many publications such as The Oban Times, Lochaber Times, Lochaber News and Lochaber Life. He was also able to show them his pictures used In publications across the world, Royals, famous people and even on banknotes, explaining the when, how and where of each image.
Throughout the session there was much discussion and sharing of memories of places and people no longer with us, with interesting stories of individual interactions over the years.
Community Activities Organiser for Lochaber, Eleanor Brown said: “Many thanks to Iain and the museum for holding this event which everyone really enjoyed. It went so well that we ran far over the time it was meant to be.
“Looking back on the pictures was very interesting and certainly stirred the memories of many. It was a great success.”
