Plans have been lodged for a restoration project at Oban’s Balmoral Hotel.
The proposal by S&M Global Developments wants to carry out repairs on the building in Craigard Road and put on a replacement roof covering as part of the work.
The C-listed building, with the hotel located above various shops, has seen several interventions over the years.
Argyll and Bute Council planning officers are expected to make a decision on the applications for planning permission and listed building consent by mid-April, and the public can now send in comments.
Planning agents CP Architects said the proposals involve substantial upgrading the interior and a comprehensive programme of repairs to the exterior.
The former lounge bar, dining room and kitchen areas would be repurposed to make additional sleeping rooms, increasing space for 23 persons to 34. All the rooms will have an ensuite shower.
The ground floor public bar would become a small guest café and reception. No bar or dining facilities are proposed in the redevelopment.
Fitting new water and heating services and upgraded thermal insulation would also be part of the proposals.
