Threatening behaviour
Police are investigating after a group of youths allegedly threw items at an address on Dalaruan Street, Campbeltown, and shouted abuse at the householder at 4.45pm on Thursday April 6. Drink driving
At 11.50pm on Friday April 7, on Hall Street, Campbeltown, the driver of a black Ford Fiesta allegedly stopped his car and tried to flee when police attempted to stop him.
After being detained, the 20-year-old man failed a road-side breath test and was arrested and taken to Campbeltown Police Station to have evidential breath samples taken. These were allegedly above the legal limit and the man was charged.
Drug driving
At 2am on Sunday April 9, on the Old Quay, Campbeltown, police stopped a white Seat Cupra. The driver showed signs of impairment, leading to a drugs swipe, which allegedly tested positive for cocaine. The 18-year-old man was arrested and evidential blood samples were collected to be measured.
Break-in
Police are investigating after unknown people broke in to Ramsay Memorial Hall, Port Ellen, Islay, and left rubbish inside between 5pm on Thursday April 6 and 9am on Friday April 7. Domestic assault
A 44-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and failing to disclose the identity of a driver after police were called to a report of a man allegedly attacking a woman at Kiells, Islay, at 12.15am on Saturday April 8.
