A 44-year-old man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance after being searched by police on Main Street, Campbeltown, at 5pm on Sunday July 30, after he was allegedly seen acting suspiciously and trying to conceal nine tablets, which have now been sent for analysis.
Drug driving
A 25-year-old man was arrested and had evidential blood samples taken after the van he was driving was stopped by police at Snipefield Industrial Estate, Campbeltown, at 8.10pm on Thursday August 3. When officers tried to search the man under Misuse of Drugs Act powers, he allegedly fought against them. Once the situation had calmed, the driver underwent a drugs wipe, which he allegedly failed, testing positive for cannabis.
Door vandalised
Police were called to a report of a woman allegedly damaging the door of a residential property at Davaar Avenue, Campbeltown, at noon on Friday August 4 but the 31-year-old fled before they arrived. The woman also allegedly damaged items within the address. Police continue to try and locate the woman involved, who is still believed to be within the town.
