Drug and driving offences were to the fore with police in Mid Argyll this week.
Possession of controlled drug
Police on patrol had cause to stop and search a man under Misuse of Drugs Act powers at about 9.45pm on Saturday December 7 at Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead. A 26-year-old man was charged with possession of controlled drugs and issued with a recorded police warning.
Breach of Undertaking
About 9.30am on Tuesday December 3 at the Co-op on Oban Road, Lochgilphead, it is alleged that a male breached court ‘undertaking’ conditions. A 54-year-old man was arrested and charged with the offence and held in police custody until the following day to appear at court.
Drink driving
Kilmartin police on patrol at 3.05am on Sunday December 8, on the A816, had cause to stop a vehicle and carry out a roadside breath test, which the driver failed. A 34-year-old man was then arrested and charged with the offence and later released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.
Careless driving
At 1.15 pm on Sunday December 8 on the A83 at Douglas Bridge, Inveraray, a 24-year-old male driver reportedly carried out a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre. The driver was charged with the offence and issued with a fine and points on his licence.
