Calling all muggles, wizards, aurors and magical creatures – ‘yule’ not want to miss this Harry Potter-inspired Campbeltown Christmas party!
Tickets for the Campbeltown Christmas Lights group’s Hogwarts Yule Ball go on sale tomorrow (Saturday).
The group’s biennial winter ball will this year be held in the Officers Mess at Machrihanish Airbase Community Company Business Park on Saturday December 7.
Entertainment will be provided by Footnotes Dance Company and there will be music from the Glasgow-based band The Cartel.
Attendees will receive a welcome glass of bubbles, table wine and a two-course meal, once again provided by Argyll Bakeries – who will also be concocting some potions to quench guests’ thirst – and there will be a grand raffle with some amazing prizes up for grabs.
Transport to the venue will be provided, too, courtesy of the town’s very own ‘Knight Bus’.
Tickets, priced at £85, will be available from The Kintyre Larder in Campbeltown’s Main Street from 11am on Saturday, November 2. As it is a licensed event, it is strictly for over-18s only, and there is a formal dress code.
Those with allergies or dietary requirements are asked to make these known when they purchase their tickets.
“These will be sold on a first come, first served basis, as in previous years,” said a spokesperson for the lights group. “The good news is, we have room for more of you wonderful creatures!
“So please get your wands, broomsticks, portkeys and your invisibility cloaks ready for a wonderful night ahead!
“All proceeds go directly back into the upkeep, insurance, installation and purchasing of our town’s Christmas lights display.”
This year’s Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Friday November 22, a week earlier than usual. Plans are in place for a fun-filled evening, featuring the ever-popular parade and entertainment from various singers, culminating in the big switch-on itself!
