School children from P1 to P7 are being encouraged to take part in the after-school sporting activities being offered by KA Leisure at Arran High School.
A significant number of youngsters already take part in the twice-weekly events and are reaping the benefits of the indoor, social fun which encourages physical activity.
Football, for P1 to P3 pupils, takes place on Tuesdays starting at 6pm, with P4 to P7 pupils kicking off at 7pm.
On Thursdays, P1 to P7 pupils can take part in basketball training at 6pm or enjoy multi sports activities from 7pm. There is also an additional support needs class on a Tuesday for P1 to P7 pupils, starting at 5pm.
Classes are hosted by North Ayrshire Sports Academy coaches, Scott Murray and Isabella Reid who ensure that all children feel welcome and included.
Active Schools co-ordinator Ross Dobson said: “It’s been great to see Isabella and Scott developing in their roles as community coaches. I would encourage as many primary pupils as possible from across the island to take advantage of the fantastic activities on offer."
Each session costs £3. For further information or to book, contact Craig Hamilton at chamilton@kaleisure.com or Ross Dobson at rossdobson@north-ayrshire.gov.uk
