Roadworks ahead for Dunollie

Surfacing improvements are due to start on Tuesday March 18 until the morning of Tuesday March 25, with no works taking place on Friday or Saturday evenings.

Works will be carried out between 8pm and 6am each night and out of those hours, management will be removed except for a 30mph speed limit staying in place because of a temporary surface.

For safety reasons. this section of the A85 will be closed in both directions each night but there will be amnesties at 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am for waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site.

As a result of the closure, during the working hours access to and from Croft Road, Deanery Brae and  Rowan Road, Oban will be at amnesty times only. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.

To cut disruption, amnesty periods have been timed to coincide with bus timetables so services in and out of Oban via Dunollie Road will be unaffected.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users.

“We have taken steps to minimise disruption to local residents by offering amnesty times that match with local bus services, and during the works every effort will be made to keep noise levels to minimum.
