The service was available for many years and was always well used and valued by the community and provided funds for the club to use to support local charities and good causes.
Unfortunately, the club was unable to provide the service for the last two Christmases as a result of Covid-19 restrictions and it was much missed by the community.
There is a huge amount of physical work involved in collecting, sorting and delivering the mail and, like many organisations, the Rotary club's numbers have fallen, leading to the decision it will not be able to offer the Christmas postal service again this year.
'The club appreciates this will be a disappointment for the community but we feel it was better to err on the side of caution,' said a spokesperson.
'Our thanks go to everyone in the community who has supported the Christmas post in the past and the members and non-members who helped with the delivery of the cards.'
'The club is still active and will consider providing donations to worthwhile causes locally and internationally by writing to the secretary c/o The Argyll Arms Hotel, Main Street, Campbeltown, PA28 6AB.'
