Lochaber Rotary appointed its new President for session 2024-25 at its weekly business lunch meeting.
Kinlocheil-born Malcolm MacRaild received the chain of office from 2023-24 President Flora McKee.
Malcolm steps up from his post of President-Elect to become the club’s 73rd president.
Malcolm is well known locally. Married to Anne and currently living at Lochyside, he was a bridge examiner with Network Rail, and latterly a care support worker before he retired.
Malcolm’s current responsibilities were also passed over to the incoming President-Elect, Iain Johnston.
Outgoing President Flora said her time had flown by and added: "Thank you for allowing me to be your president.
"I have enjoyed a very interesting and positive year.
"Albeit that we are smaller in numbers, we got a lot done – both locally and internationally."
On presenting the chain to Malcolm she added: "It gives me great pleasure to promote you to President of Lochaber Rotary."
Malcolm responded "Thank you Flora for guiding us through this year. Your wealth of experience has been invaluable and we’ve achieved a lot."
To the members, Malcolm added: "Thank you all for giving me the chance to step in as president. I have big shoes to fill. We all need to rally and work together to ensure a positive future for our club."
