Runners slog it out in post-Christmas races

Fourteen people ran off some of the excesses of the festive period in the 2022 Slog in the Sand.

 

The Campbeltown Running Club event on December 27 featured competitive 5K and 10K runs along Westport beach.

 

Wet and windy weather proved challenging this year, particularly during the first 5K, but conditions improved towards the end of the event.

 

Stuart McGeachy was the first man home in the 10K run, while Mairi Littleson was the first lady across the line. In the 5K race, Innes Boyd was first in the men's race, with Margaret Sinclair winning the ladies' event.
