The Campbeltown Christmas Lights group organised for the man in red to travel round the town centre and residential areas on Saturday.
He waved to all the children who lined the streets to catch a glimpse of him as his helpers Mandy Robertson, Kirsteen Graham and Linda McKellar threw sweeties to the youngsters.
'That's the big jolly fellow, Santa, on his way back to the North Pole now to finish off his work for Christmas,' said a lights group spokesperson after the visit.
'He wanted us to pass on his thanks to a few special people who made it possible for him to make a special appearance for all the wee kids – and also the big kids.
'Kintyre Hire, Andy McPhee, Graham Harvey and Linda McKellar, thank you all so much.
'Thanks to Lorraine Rankin, The Original Factory Shop and Campbeltown Co-op, along with Donna Graham, for the amazing sweeties, and Kenny Craig for all his pictures and following us round the route to ensure safety.
'To everyone who waved, be it from a car, the street, a doorstep, their garden or a window, thank you.
'To all the children – we know that things haven't been easy for you all and you still can't take part in the things that are special to you. We hope Santa's visit gave you all a little bit of magic in your day.
'To Santa himself, what would we do without you?
'Merry Christmas, everyone!'
Before he headed back to the North Pole, Santa stopped off at The Gather on the outskirts of Tarbert to help spread some more cheer during a two-day Christmas festival.
Crafters from Campbeltown to Kilmichael set up stalls selling everything from arts and crafts to food and drink but it was Santa and an unusual red-nosed reindeer named Huggy, who joined him in his grotto, who proved to be a big attraction with both children and adults.
