Organisers of Seil Island Scarecrow Festival expect to raise more than £7,500.
The festival’s committee members are thrilled with how this year’s week-long event went, blessed by mostly good weather and a crop of visitors from far and near who had fun.
As well as the 70 plus scarecrows on an island-wide trail, highlights included the Argyll Ceilidh Trail, the daily pop-up café, the quiz and curry night, and the daily children’s club.
A big thank you has gone out to sponsors Mathesons Furnishings, Easdale Seafoods, Balvicar Stores, NFU Mutual, Easdale Medical Practice and the Oban Whisky Shop; and the many generous donations of time and effort by residents and participants.
The final total is still being calculated but is confidently expected to be over £7,500.
Funds raised will be shared out, giving 90 per cent to the Seil Island Community Hall towards running costs and repair, with the remaining money going to the North Argyll Volunteer Car Scheme.
