Members of the Sir E Scott School choirs gave a performance at the Harris Distillery on ahead of their journey to compete at the Royal National Mòd in Oban.
The young singers entertained visitors on Friday with a selection of the songs which will be the Harris school’s entries in the annual celebration of Gaelic music and culture.
Both junior (primary) and senior school choirs are due to travel to the mainland soon, and as well as the group competitions, pupils from Sir E Scott and Leverhulme Memorial schools will take part in individual spoken, instrumental and singing classes.
The choir, led by conductor Jayne MacDonald, returned from last year’s Mòd in Paisley having won trophies at junior and senior level.
The junior choir’s experience - and ferry journey - was also filmed by a crew from the BBC programme Island Crossings, which was broadcast in September.
A spokesperson for the Sir E Scott choir parents’ fundraising group said: “We would like to thank Harris distillery for their warm welcome last week, and everyone who has supported the choir’s journey to this year’s Mòd, including those who contributed to our fundraising efforts, or have given their time to help with preparations.
"We wish the children all the best with their competitions, and hope that they have a wonderful experience in Oban.”
