The Screen Machine mobile cinema returns to the Isle of Mull this month amid a cash plea to keep the service rolling.
After two previous visits to the island were cancelled, the Screen Machine will be spending February 15-20 on the island in Tobermory and Criagnure, hosting 14 film screenings of nine different films.
The films include new releases such as Oppenheimer and Geographies of Solitude, as well as Poor Things, Wonka, One Life and Priscilla.
The Screen Machine, which celebrated its 25th birthday last year, continues to feel the pressure of a lack of funding, which puts the future of the service in some doubt.
Simon Drysdale, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Regional Screen Scotland, said: “We are using a leased cinema, and have funding in place to continue the lease until only mid-April.
"We are calling on our customers and supporters to write to their elected representatives to tell them that without funding from the Scottish Government, the service will be wound down.
"A new tailor-made cinema will cost approx £1.4 million and take 12 to 18 months to build. We want the Scottish Government to provide 50 per cent of the cost to build a new tailor-made facility that will secure the service well into the next decade.”
You will find the Screen Machine in the Ledaig car park in Tobermory and behind the village hall in Craignure. Tickets can be booked on-line at www.screenmachine.co.uk.
Staff always keep back a minimum of eight tickets per screening to sell on the door on the day, 30 minutes prior to scheduled film start times.
