Carradale’s Shopper-Aide social group enjoyed a double birthday celebration last week.
A joint birthday bash for Marion Morris and Rachel Grant was held at Carradales guest house, where hosts Steve Reed and Maurice Whelan treated the group to an “exquisite” lunch.
Some of the delights on offer included a choice of soups – pea and mint or honey parsnip – sandwiches filled with the likes of smoked salmon and cream cheese, prawns, avocado and dill mayonnaise, and chicken and bacon, as well as tuna, sweetcorn and red onion wraps.
This was followed by some sweet treats, including chocolate, date and sultana bread, orange and ginger cake, and lemon curd and chocolate and strawberry scones.
“We are very sad to see this dynamic duo leave the village, as they are closing their doors at the end of September,” said group organiser Fiona Lavery-Jones. “Thanks again to Steve and Maurice – the ladies had a wonderful time, and we will miss them.”
