South Kintyre was battered by two major storms this week resulting in a massive clean-up operation around the region.
Storm Isha provided the inclement weather from Sunday into Monday before Jocelyn took over on Tuesday and Wednesday, both wrecking havoc.
Council workers had the tough task on Monday of cutting and transporting a fallen sycamore tree on Lochend Street, which was uprooted by the fierce 75mph gusts which reached Campbeltown during Sunday night. The trees were thought to be more than 100 years old.
On Monday, Machrihanish Golf Club’s course was declared unplayable after piles of stones washed up from the nearby beach the previous night while parts of Southend village were without power late into Monday. Thunder and lightning was also reported in Campbeltown on the same day.
