It was designed from an original drawing by Jemma Totty who won a competition held for S1 to S3 pupils at Arran High School to come up with a logo. She also received a £50 prize.
This was awarded to Jemma during school time as unfortunately
due to the Covid restrictions, the new station could not have the great 'reveal' that we
had planned.
Jemma's design was chosen because it is bright, cheerful and clearly describes what ArranSound.com does and who it is for.
Jemma had carefully thought through her idea and worked with the team to
refine it for our media use.Arransound.com is a community radio for everyone
living on Arran, the island is cleverly identified in the earphones, which also
explains what we are about, along with the colourful soundwaves and added
slogan 'radio for all'.
As first revealed by the Banner in July the new internet radio station has been born out of The Arran Banner talking newspaper service and aims to provide a new exciting, one touch, service which will bring and local news and views to everyone on the island overcoming visual and ability barriers, social isolation and physical distance.
