A team of female footballers were triumphant when the Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay (MAKI) Schools Sports Competition kicked off in Campbeltown this month.
Campbeltown Grammar School (CGS) welcomed teams from Tarbert Academy, Islay High School and Lochgilphead High School for a seven-a-side football competition.
CGS had four teams involved, a boys’ team and a girls’ team in both the S1-3 and S4-6 sections, all of whom represented the school with pride and great enthusiasm.
The competition in all four categories was very tight at the top, with Campbeltown’s junior boys, senior girls and senior boys coming out as runners up within their relevant competitions.
But the junior girls saw success in the S1-3 competition, coming out very worthy winners within their section.
“A huge well done to all of the pupils who represented the school on this occasion,” said a school spokesperson.
