At their last business lunch meeting in the Alexandra Hotel, Fort William, Lochaber Rotary members were delighted to welcome a group of visiting Rotarians from Sweden.
Thorleif Josefsson, and his fellow Rotarians from the Orust Rotary Club, north of Gothenberg, arrived at the Thomas Telford Marina in Corpach in their forty-foot sailing boat “Spirit of the Deep” on May 21 having sailed through the Caledonian Canal with previous overnights at Fraserburgh and Inverness.
The group were continuing onto Oban and then to the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland before returning to Sweden via Norway after about a month.
Thorleif thanked the Club for its kind welcome and added “It is so nice to meet everyone and discuss matters of common interest.
“Scotland is very nice and we enjoy the scenery and we feel we have a connection with you.”
Lochaber President Flora McKee responded: “It is our pleasure to have you. Have a good safe journey and Haste Ye Back.”
