If you’re looking for a fantastic weekend of family fun, laughter, entertainment and music which also caters for seafood lovers then make a date with Tarbert Seafood Festival, July 6 – 7.
One of Tarbert’s favourite festivals, Tarbert Seafood Festival is renowned for its family atmosphere. While trends come and go the Seafood Festival has retained its traditions, which will continue this year’s with Seafood Queen Jessica Wilkieson accompanied by her Princesses Carys Graham and Lua MacLennan.
It all starts on Saturday morning when you can browse the stalls lining the harbourside, selling everything from crafts to tasty treats, including some of the seafood Tarbert is so famous for.
Seafood lovers are strongly encouraged to head to the Quay where they will find cookery demonstrations, as well as the infamous Ready, Steady, Cook competition, all under the watchful gaze of Chef Mike Leslie from Kilsyth’s Coachman.
And that’s just the start of the festivities, with the official part of the day, the crowning of the Seafood Queen, taking place at lunchtime.
Then it’s time to party! First with the legendary Seafood Festival parade – based on the theme of children’s books. Come and watch, or even better, come and join in!
Street entertainers will make sure your Saturday afternoon is full of surprises and, of course, there will be lots of seafood on offer – both to buy from stalls or to sample from local hotels and restaurants.
And that’s not all – make sure you’ve packed your dancing shoes as Beer on the Pier bursts back onto the stage for Seafood Festival Sunday. This year we welcomes back crowd favourites The Democrats, Feeva, local band After You and a Take That tribute band, so singing voices will also be required!
Tarbert Seafood Festival is one of the most anticipated events on the festival calendar, so don’t miss out – we’ll see you there!
