The Neil Ward Memorial Shield was played for on Saturday February 1 for the third time, bringing together teams from Lochgilphead and Tarbert bowling clubs.
In round one saw Lochgilphead took an impressive lead of 23 – 5. Round two was a tighter affair with Lochgilphead narrowly winning 11 – 9.
In the second half of games Tarbert got a better run on the carpets.
Round three saw Tarbert coming to the fore winning 19 -5, while in round four amazing play by Tarbert saw them win 24 – 6.
The overall score was Lochgilphead 45 - Tarbert 57.
Nannie Ward presented the Neil Ward Shield to Duncan MacGregor, president of Tarbert Bowling Club.
President of Lochgilphead Bowling Club Colin MacInnes thanked everyone for attending, with special mention to the Ward and Bruce family, to the ladies for the preparation and serving of the food and for those who contributed to the amazing raffle and to all who helped make the day run smoothly.
