Coach Jonathan Scott returned from an overseas spying mission and travelled straight to Bishopbriggs last Saturday to play Glasgow Harp.
A healthy squad of 16 players were available and the hope was that the positive results of the past few weeks would be maintained.
Unfortunately things didn’t turn out as planned, with a lacklustre first half putting the Dookers 4-0 down at half time, with a fifth added just after the restart to make things even more difficult.
Mini Bruce and Alexander McLean were introduced, the latter after a long injury lay-off, and the changes seemed to give the team a spark, with Mini scoring his first goal for Tarbert.
The performance of the whole team drastically improved as the second half wore on and Tarbert should have added further goals to make the score more respectable, however Harp ran out winners by 6-1.
While no one in a Tarbert shirt wants to lose so heavily, results like this are always possible with the amount of young players trying to find their feet at this level.
It’s all about getting game time and gelling as much as possible as a team. The attitude has been good, with the boys keen to do their best and improve.
This week there is no game but the boys will return to action on March 23 when they are away to Kilbarchan Thistle. Tarbert currently sit seventh in Division 3.
