In the afternoon final, however, the band did not quite make the prize list, finishing eighth overall.

Fiona Mitchell, Pipe Major of KSPB, only took over from Ian McKerral as piping instructor in Kintyre's schools at Easter.
“That was a successful day; our morning run was possibly our best of the season,” she said after the world championships. “It has been a year of transition and we can take a lot of encouragement for the future.
“I would like to say a big well done to all the players and the other tutors for their hard work and determination. Any many thanks to everyone from Kintyre who travelled to Glasgow today to cheer us on.”

The band's next outing will be at The Ugadale Hotel, Machrihanish, on the evening of Saturday August 26 to support the Maggie's charity.
After that, on Saturday September 9 at 7pm, the band will be providing another street performance in Main Street, Campbeltown, which everyone is welcome to attend.
