The West Coast favourites will showcase material from their new album, alongside their captivating new sound with their inimitable seven-piece line-up.
To celebrate their third time lucky attempt, Mànran will put on an exceptional triple-bill to celebrate finally getting to play the Oban stage after their original gig last September and their special Hogmanay show were cancelled due to rising Covid numbers and then the festive restrictions.
Joining the supergroup on stage will be local favourites Chunks and Ceòl an Aire.
With three award-winning studio albums already under their belt, Mànran have recently released their much-anticipated fourth album to great critical acclaim. This night of entertainment will include new material, alongside favourites from their back catalogue.
When in March 2020, alongside the rest of the world, Mànran’s concerts and tours both at home and abroad were cancelled, alongside plans for their very own festival, the band focused their efforts on writing and arranging this new album which is the first body of work to show off the talents of their newest members.
Mànran have welcomed to the fold newly crowned Gaelic Singer of the Year at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards Kim Carnie, and Orcadian guitarist Aidan Moodie.
Kim Carnie, who grew up in Oban, said: 'I'm really looking forward to playing my hometown. It’s been a long time coming and we’ve made sure this will be a night to remember with not one, but two, local bands joining us for the night.
'It’s been brilliant writing and rehearsing the new material and getting into the studio to record it, but nothing compares with playing to a live audience, especially a home audience.'
Mànran formed in 2010 and it didn’t take them long to release a multi-award-winning debut album.
They remain the only group in the 21st century to break the UK top 40 with a song in the Gaelic language - their debut single Latha Math reached number 29.
The subsequent years brought with them continued success with the band establishing their characteristic sound and distinctive approach to musical arrangement.
