The UK Coastguard requested assistance from the Tobermory RNLI lifeboat, with the volunteer crew paged shortly before 3.30pm.
They met with the fishing boat between Ardnamurchan Lighthouse and the north coast of Mull.
On arriving at the scene, the all-weather lifeboat manoeuvred alongside the vessel and transferred the casualty aboard.
The lifeboat then made its way to Oban where the casualty was transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service, before returning to Tobermory.
Tobermory RNLI coxswain, David McHaffie said: "Thanks to the skipper and crew of the fishing vessel who prepared their starboard side for a safe and efficient transfer of the casualty. Thanks also to Tom from the Oban lifeboat crew for his assistance at the pontoon and for the fish and chips!"
