Bob MacIntyre secured another top 20 finish after four solid rounds in the HSBC Championship at the Yas Links in Abu Dhabi.
The Oban man shot out the blocks with nine birdies in a spectacular opening round of 65 but couldn’t quite keep up the momentum over the next three days.
However, a string of solid performances saw him card a 68 on Friday and two 69s on Saturday and Sunday to see him finish in 19th position on -17.
Bob will be happy with his overall display but will likely be a little disappointed at his failure to push on from the blistering start that had him loitering near the top of the leaderboard with intent for the first two days.
On his first round, he said: "I made a couple of silly mistakes but you’re going to have them. You’re going to have a lapse of concentration now and again."
The Genesis Scottish Open champion will bring down his 2024 DP World Tour campaign in this week’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, before heading to the Bahamas early next month for a debut appearance in the Hero World Challenge.
He makes the trip across the Atlantic after receiving an invitation from tournament host and former world number one Tiger Woods.
The 28-year-old added: "I just want to try and play well between now and having a wee Christmas break. My game has been good all year and it’s all about keeping building on that. I’m going out there to try to win golf tournaments against great players and the scores right now show the level is so high.”
The tournament was won by Englishman Paul Waring, who finished on -24, two shots ahead of Tyrrell Hatton on -22.
