Top table performances from Aileen

Fort William Table Tennis Club members continued to produce some exciting matches in its recent fixtures.

 

In division two, Aileen MacFadzean and Willie MacLeod faced off in a match that see-sawed one way and the other.

 

Aileen took the first and third game only to see Willie level each time. The deciding game could have gone either way but it was Aileen who prevailed 12-10.

 

Spurred on by this victory she then recorded a 3-0 victory over John Steel.

 

Willie MacLeod, however, did not go home empty handed as he also claimed a 3-0 win over Jim Hinchley, who in turn claimed a victory of his own when he beat John Steel 3-0.

 

In division one, John Grant had a very close match with Alin Popu. With two wins apiece Alin could not sustain his momentum and John took the fifth game 11-8 to claim the match.

 

John Grant and Monte Bleasdale then locked horns in a match that saw John closely take the first game 11-9 before storming into a 2-0 lead. Monte fought back to take the third but could not prevent John, who was playing some great shots, taking the next game and the the match 3-1.

 

The club always welcomes new players to participate in the regular Monday night sessions at the Nevis Centre between 6.45 and 8.45 each Monday night.

 

The first session is free for newcomers.
