A decision on controversial plans to convert a barn into a house on Mull has been delayed again until September.
Concerns were raised that the proposal by Torloisk Estate for land west of Lagganulva Farm would have too great an impact on the area, despite a planning officer’s recommendation that it should be approved.
The proposal, which attracted 22 objections, first went before Argyll and Bute Council’s planning, protective services and licensing (PPSL) committee in May, but was continued to allow more information to be sought.
The plans were considered again by the same committee on June 19, when officers recommended more time to source the information needed before a decision can be made.
The application was continued to the next PPSL meeting, held on August 21, after the council’s summer recess.
The minutes from that meeting record: "This application was presented to the PPSL on 22 May 2024 and the committee agreed to request from planning officers information on what impact this proposed development would have on access to, and operation of, the remaining agricultural land.
"Planning Officers have sought further information from both the applicant and the tenant farmer and a request was made to continue consideration of the application to the PPSL Committee meeting on 18 September 2024 to allow for the requested information to be prepared."
The committee agreed to continue consideration of the application on September 18.
