The measures include restrictions on waiting and loading, parking, bus stop clearway, and no right turn from Burnside Street onto Longrow.
In preparation for the new one-way system being implemented, new road markings have been painted on some town centre streets and a number of road signs have been erected.
The wording on some of the new signs has caused a bit of confusion. Courier reader Elizabeth McTaggart sent a photo of one of the signs located outside Campbeltown Town Hall, which reads: 'No stopping; Max stay two hours; No return within one hour except taxis'.
Mrs McTaggart also included her own comical attempt at ‘understanding’ the sign. She wrote: 'You’re not allowed to stop here. If you do, you can stay for a maximum of two hours... but you can’t, so don’t even think about it. If you stay for two hours, which you can’t, then decide to leave, you can’t come back for an hour. Then you could stay for another two hours, if you were allowed to stay which you’re not. Taxis can park up here for the eternity.'
An Argyll and Bute Council spokesperson said: 'Our suppliers provided the wrong information on the signs. We are waiting for replacements.'
