Brodick has been battered by some powerful winds so far today as Storm Éowyn blows through but The Banner’s own Colin Smeeton has braved the weather to document what’s been going on.
Brand new ferry the MV Glen Sannox has been tied down by storm ropes as all sailings in Scotland have been cancelled for today - and for good reason.
The seas are mighty choppy, with waves crashing above barriers and the sea wall even partially collapsing at Whitefarland.
Colin captured some minor debris as loose branches begin flying off trees and even vehicles rocking while parked in the wind.
Thankfully for Brodick there is yet to be any major damage recorded, save for a glass pane on the door of the Banner office, which smashed after it slammed shut in the teeth of the gales.
The storm is set to continue with the same ferocity until around 5pm, peaking at around 1.30pm today, but is expected to pass completely by midnight tomorrow.
For now, stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
